MEET SARAH

My name is Sarah and I am a 22 year old female with a passion for hunter jumpers and a new found passion for barrels and poles!Throughout my career, I have shown at TRYON North Caroline hunter jumper shows and have taught at horse summer camps! I always love working with horses as well and have a project horse! I put my heart into everything I do! I believe in finding different ways to teach as I know not everyone learns the same way! I have always believed in having fun when learning to ride but am never opposed to a more serious lesson style either! I’m a very flexible person and believe in going at your own pace! I will always make sure you are comfortable and prepared to do something before hand as I do believe in safety! I love horse and rider bonding and believe that to truly achieve your goals with your horse you have to be a team! So team building exercises are something I also love to do! I have worked with kids and adults before and I truly do enjoy getting to know whoever I work with! I love animals and have always dreamed of working with animals as my life style! My end goal in life is to be a professional horse trainer and instructor! I absolutely dream of having that be my 24/7 career!

I also work really well with kids I don’t have a horse to use for kid lessons, but I do not mind working with kids and their own animals. I will help with most disciplines and do ride both english and western.

What We Do

GROUND TRAINING

We believe groundwork is one of the most important parts of being with horses. It helps you learn to control your horses body parts and respect all around. We believe this helps create a true partnership between you and your equine.

TEEN/ADULT LESSONS

Here at RFE we offer two different options for lessons. We offer on property lessons with our horses for students that don’t have a horse, or boarders , we specialize in beginner/ intermediate and offer both English and western . We focus on the basics of horse and rider , each rider will start every lesson with proper haltering , tying , and grooming as we move toward riding .   We have a 4-h background and Hunter Background and can help riders with confidence, and getting show ready / or even trail ready!Kayla is an instructor at Grace Mountain Ranch in evergreen colorado, and Bibber Creek Stables  and is accepting lessons for beginners and intermediate riders ages 8+

FAQS

Do You Have a Question For Me?

WHAT DOES RED FEATHER EQUESTRIAN DO DIFFERENTLY THAN OTHERS IN YOUR FIELD?

When we’re doing lessons, we focus on having fun. We want the horse and the rider to succeed together when we work one on one. We like to watch and evaluate what’s already been going on and see what we can fix without having to get our hands on the horse. As for lessons, we really do look for our students to create bonds with the horses they’re working with. We want our students to want to be here. We are big on positivity.

WHAT IS YOUR TRAINING METHODOLOGY?

We all have backgrounds that are different and if one of us can’t figure it out, we will have the others come try if none of us can. We have no problem referring you to someone who can but we will try and if we can’t succeed, there will be no charge, we are not licensed professionals. We are young we just want to have people have the same love for horses that we do.

WHICH TYPES OF BREEDS DOES RED FEATHER EQUESTRIAN TRAIN?

We will work with all breeds no matter how tall or how small. Kayla and Persephone have worked on saddle breaking and training ponies but all three of us have also had the background of riding draft horses, gated horses, quarter horses, appaloosas, paints, and honestly whatever else you can come up with.
